Faculty input sought in consequences for academic dishonesty
A new Teaching Scholars Program research project survey has been created to determine perception on the appropriate consequences of lapses in academic integrity.This research project could be beneficial in understanding the perceptions on the appropriate consequences of academic dishonesty and provide recommendations for measures to be taken by appropriate academic personnel as a consequence of academic dishonesty.
2017 Harriet Tubman Lectureship
WVU's Department of Surgery will host the 2017 Harriet Tubman Lectureship featuring visiting professor L.D. Britt, MD, MPH DSc (Hon). Dr. Britt will lecture on "Health Disparities: The Greatest Challenge Facing the Nation." Dr. Britt is the Henry Fort Professor and Edward J. Brickhouse Chairman, Eastern Medical School and Department of Surgery, Norfolk, Virginia.
Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry professor receives prestigious award
James Mahoney, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, recently received Division 28: Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse’s Young Psychopharmacologist Award.

Under the Dome is an update on actions and activities of the West Virginia Legislature, provided during the regular legislative session, interim sessions and special sessions for West Virginia University faculty and staff by WVU’s Office of State and Local Relations. WVU neurosurgeon and football team physician leaves lasting impact on community, honored with major gift
G. Robert “Bob” Nugent, M.D., one of the nation’s most respected neurosurgeons and a former physician for West Virginia University’s football team, spent 43 seasons tending to the medical needs of Mountaineer football players and was one of the first neurosurgeons to treat patients in what was then the new University Hospital, now the WVU Health Sciences Center.
