With spring approaching, it’s time to start organizing your walking team. The Wellness Center at WVU Medicine’s Health Sciences Campus will start its annual “Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days®” campaign on Monday, April 17.

Neurosurgery Visiting Professor Lecture: Errors and the Neurosurgeon
Mark Bernstein, M.D., professor in the Department of Surgery, University of Toronto, will be the guest lecturer for the Department of Neurosurgery on Wednesday, March 15, 7 a.m. in Room 4007, Health Sciences Center. His topic will be "Errors and the Neurosurgeon."
Nominations requested for President's Volunteer Service Award
The Center for Service and Learning is accepting nominations for the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Any Mountaineer who has completed at least 100 hours of service between February 1, 2016 and February 1, 2017 is eligible for nomination.
A 'portable' approach to studying the brain unveiled at American Association for the Advancement of Science meeting in Boston
Research assistant professor Julie Brefczynski-Lewis, Ph.D., and her research team, are perfecting what they say is the world's first portable, wearable positron emission tomography (PET) scanner that obtains "live" internal depictions of the human brain working while a person walks or is involved in other physical movement. She unveiled her work at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science this weekend in Boston.

WVU School of Medicine offers three new physician training programs
The West Virginia University School of Medicine announced recently that accreditation was granted for three new physician training programs on the Morgantown campus: radiation oncology, plastic surgery and vascular surgery.
