Ohio State's Dr. Timothy Pawlik to speak at Department of Surgery's Grand Rounds
Timothy Pawlik, M.D., chair of the Department of Surgery, professor of surgery and oncology, and the Urban Meyer III and Shelley Meyer Chair for Cancer Research at the Wexner Medical Center of The Ohio State University, will serve as the WVU Department of Surgery's 2017 H. Bernard Zimmermann, M.D. Visiting Professor.

Gee urges WVU supporters to call GOP state senators about budget reductions
West Virginia University President Gordon Gee sent the following letter today (April 4) urging the University community to contact Republican state senators after a Senate Finance Committee decision Monday reducing the institution's budget by 15 percent.
School of Public Health faculty member appointed to committee on coal dust exposure
Dr. Michael McCawley, Interim Chair of the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences in the School of Public Health, has been appointed to a committee for the National Academies of Sciences on the Study of the Control of Respirable Coal Mine Dust Exposure in Underground Mines.
Wear Gold and Blue on Wednesday for School of Medicine's commemoration of WVU's 150th anniversary
The School of Medicine will be commemorating WVU’s 150th anniversary during the week of April 3-7, with a Gold and Blue Day honored across all SOM campuses on April 5; buttons, stickers and balloons will be distributed to students throughout the week; and, flying “WV” cookies will be provided to School of Medicine students on Friday, April 7.

Delta Omega Annual Speaker
The WVU School of Public Health Delta Omega Annual Speaker event will be held this Friday, April 7, at 12 PM in HSC 1905. Dr. Loretta Cain, an epidemiologist and biostatistician at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, will be presenting "Ectopic Pregnancy in the Medicaid Population: Rates, Disparities, Complications, and Risk Factors".
