Summer research fellows and Shepherd Univ. intern present their cancer research
Six undergraduate students recently presented their cancer research to their peers and mentors during a symposium at the WVU Cancer Institute’s Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. Five of the undergraduates – Daniel Berrebi, River Hames, Emmanuel Chan, Stephen Chen and Joseph McGuire – completed research fellowships at the WVU Cancer Institute this summer. Adam Hull, an intern from Shepherd University, completed his cancer research project in Shepherd University President Mary Hendrix’s lab at WVU.

West Virginia health research gets $55 million boost
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Recommitting themselves to bring the benefits of research out of labs and hospitals and into the lives of West Virginia people and communities, a coalition of federal agencies, universities, hospitals and clinics will develop dozens of efforts over the next five years to battle addiction and cancer and reduce the impact of cardiovascular and neurological diseases.
Sengupta named chief of Cardiology at WVU Heart and Vascular Institute
Partho Sengupta, M.D., director of Cardiovascular Imaging and chair of the Center for Innovation at the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, has been additionally promoted to chief of the Section of Cardiology in the Heart and Vascular Institute and in the WVU School of Medicine Department of Medicine.
Surgery Grand Rounds: History of Surgical Education
Joseph E. Losee, M.D., will be the visiting professor for the Department of Surgery's Grand Rounds and will present "History of Surgical Education" on Aug. 9 at 8 a.m. in Room 1901 in the Fukushima commons area of the WVU Health Sciences Center.
