After Charlottesville: Diversity and Inclusion at Health Sciences
A month after the tragic events on and around the campus of the University of Virginia, the Health Sciences Center and WVU Medicine community will hold a Town Hall Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 12 noon in Okey Patteson Auditorium to discuss what we are doing - and what we can do better - to build and maintain a diverse and inclusive environment for our students, faculty, patients, staff and visitors.

The Perry G. Fine, M.D., Pain Lecture Series will be held on Monday, October, 16, 2017, at the WVU Health Sciences Center, Okey Patteson Auditorium in Morgantown, West Virginia from 4 to 8 p.m.
WVU is accepting nominations for University’s highest service honor – Order of Vandalia
The University is accepting nominations for its highest service honor – the Order of Vandalia. The award is given each year to persons who have provided extraordinary service to the University over many years and will be presented during the induction ceremony scheduled for June 2, 2018.

ANESTHESIOLOGY Antonio Cassara, MD joins the Department of Anesthesiology’s pediatric service. He was formerly a faculty member at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where he also completed pediatric anesthesia fellowship. He did his anesthesiology residency at West Penn Hospital.

WVU Cancer Institute doubling in size to meet needs in the state
The WVU Cancer Institute has undertaken a massive expansion effort to meet the demand for cancer services in West Virginia. The growth includes recruiting 38 new cancer specialists by 2020 as well as increasing space for patient care.
