WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital to celebrate Donate Life Month today
Officials from WVU Medicine and the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE) will officially mark National Donate Life Month to raise awareness about organ, tissue, and cornea donation and to inspire everyone to register to be an organ donor on Friday, April 12, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Designed specifically for cancer control researchers and practitioners, Implementation Science at a Glance provides a succinct overview of this field.

Sydney Westfall, a senior undergraduate student in the Immunology and Medical Microbiology program, was the winner in the Undergraduate Research Poster category at the 54th Van Liere Research Conference held March 21–22 at the Health Sciences Center.
Immunology and Medical Microbiology students awarded research internships
The Immunology and Medical Microbiology (IMMB) program recently selected four students to participate in a research internship program offered by the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Cell Biology. The internships, designed to provide long-term financial support for the selected students, offers invaluable experience and enhances the opportunities for success in graduate school, professional school, industry or government after graduation. Research experience offers the ability to better understand published works, learn to balance collaborative and individual work, and determine the area of interest. The department offers internships of research-intensive training in the fields of microbiology, infectious diseases, immunology, neuro-immunology, vaccinology, cancer cell biology and molecular biology. Selected participants get to opportunity to work on research projects under the direction of a primary member of the faculty from the Department. The program supports four students each year. Interns join a laboratory the summer after their sophomore year and have two full years to develop and conduct an independent research project. Students selected in 2019 include:
