WVU addresses addiction crisis with novel ultrasound treatment
On the heels of the country’s deadliest year for drug overdoses, the West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute launched a first-in-the-world clinical trial to investigate the use of focused ultrasound technology to treat those with opioid use disorder. The procedure marks the potential for a new innovative treatment for addiction.
WVU launches text service to reinforce safe choices, curb binge drinking
Students at West Virginia University can now receive adaptive text messages encouraging them to make safer choices about alcohol use by questioning how likely they are to have more than four drinks at any single occasion, how they are prepared to handle peer pressure and if they are willing to set a goal to drink less.
Women of Color Committee to celebrate Women's History Month with panel on intersectionality
In celebration of Women's History Month, please join the Women of Color Committee of the WVU Council for Women's Concerns in virtual a panel discussion to explore women of color's unique experiences in our community. The panel discussion will focus on the interplay of the different identities within the women of color community and will seek to foster unity and support among women of color across different identities.
