Wellness Webcast 2021 premiers this week

The Office of Health Promotion and Wellness is sponsoring Wellness Webcast 2021 on Thursday, Aug. 26 from noon-3 p.m. This free, virtual event is open to the entire WVU community. Our funded wellness partners will present projects aligned with the University’s wellbeing priorities.

BeWell Blog — "Try This Tuesday: Koru Mindfulness"

The BeWell team is offering a series of helpful tips for mental health and wellbeing called "Try This Tuesday." This week, Layne Hitchcock discusses Koru Mindfulness, a recurring four-week class focusing on the skill of mindfulness. Benefits of mindfulness practice can include reduced anxiety, better ability to respond to and manage stress, and improved sleep.

WVU Health System to require COVID-19 vaccine by Oct. 31 for those working in patient care

The West Virginia University Health System announced today that it will require all of its employees to be fully vaccinated with both doses of the two-dose series by Oct. 31, 2021. Those on the Health Sciences Campuses involved in patient care, including residents, fellows and students, are required to follow WVU Health System policies, including those related to COVID-19, such as masks, PPE and vaccinations.

Study seeks students who want to exercise more

A new study at WVU Health Sciences is seeking students to participate in a new exercise study. Any WVU student who wants to start exercising regularly is eligible to sign up for eight weeks of free exercise training.
