Clay Marsh, MD, named to 2026 West Virginia Executive Health Care Hall of Fame
Clay Marsh, MD, chancellor and executive dean for West Virginia University Health Sciences, will be honored as a 2026 West Virginia Executive Health Care Hall of Fame inductee on Tuesday, March 3, in Charleston.
Latest cohort of Presidential Student Ambassadors announced
For the Fall 2026 semester, 14 exemplary students will represent the University as part of the Presidential Student Ambassadors Cohort 16.
Three Zoom Phone training sessions offered this spring

WVU in the News: Health Care Hall of Fame 2026 features Clay Marsh, M.D.
Hardwork, curiosity about learning, growth and improvement have always been at the forefront of Clay Marsh's mind. As chancellor and executive dean of West Virginia University (WVU) Health Sciences and dean of WVU School of Medicine, Marsh oversees one of the most comprehensive academic health systems in the region, guiding education, research and clinical care across medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry and public health.
New position control procedures announced, effective Feb. 23
Updates to the Health Sciences position control process have recently taken effect, and those tasked with hiring and requesting positions can review the full guidelines on the Hub.
Elevator construction details for WVU Health Sciences beginning March 2
Starting on Monday, March 2, elevator renovations will begin in both the North and South towers of the Health Sciences Center. Plans have been developed to minimize disruption, but some inconvenience cannot be avoided. Students, faculty and staff are advised to use the stairs as much as possible to minimize impacts on functioning elevators.
Planned electrical outage in HSC North -- Feb. 28 and March 1
On Saturday, Feb. 28 and Sunday, March 1 there will be a partial electrical outage in select areas on the 1st floor of Health Sciences Center North.
Blood Drive planned for March 10 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital
An American Red Cross blood drive will be held Tuesday, March 10 from 12-6 p.m. at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital Bruce McClymonds Conference Room A for WVU employees and students.
Undergraduate GEF and Honors course to be offered in Fall 2026: Social Determinants of Health (PUBH 202)
WVU School of Public Health will offer PUBH 202: Social Determinants of Health for the Fall 2026 semester. The 3-credit course is available to undergraduate students interested in learning more about the social factors or determinants that impact health.
