Starting June 27, use of HSC’s VPN (GlobalProtect) by faculty and staff will require a validated client machine certificate when connecting to the HSC network.

Teaching Scholars Program set for 2022-23 academic year
The Teaching Scholars Program will be held via Zoom for one hour each Tuesday from Sept. 6, 2022, through May 23, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. This program is open to all WVU Health Sciences faculty.
Annual Palladino Lecture and Research Symposium open to Health Sciences community
The 29th Annual Antonio Palladino Memorial Lecture and Resident Research Symposium will be held Friday, June 17 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital Bruce McClymonds Conference Center and online via Zoom.
iTOX Trainees Win Multiple Awards at Regional Toxicology Meeting
We would like to recognize the achievements of our trainees in the Department of Physiology & Pharmacology, and the Center for Inhalation Toxicology (iTOX). The following trainees received awards at the 35th annual meeting of the Allegheny-Erie Society of Toxicology Regional Chapter: Evan DeVallance Ph.D. (Best Postdoctoral Podium Presentation), Julie Griffith M.S. (Best Graduate Student Podium Presentation), Nairrita Majumder M.S. (Best Graduate Student Poster Presentation), and Kallie Schafner (Best Undergraduate Podium Presentation). The meeting was held on campus at the Erickson Alumni Center and showcased toxicology research conducted at regional academic institutes, industries, and government agencies.
HSC network maintenance scheduled for June 12
HSC Information Technology Services will complete maintenance on the HSC network on Sunday, June 12, between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., affecting offices, labs and conference rooms located on the 5th floor of Health Sciences South.
Department Faculty Selected to Lead Premier Toxicology Journal
We are excited to announce that Dr. Aaron Erdely (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, and adjunct Professor of Physiology & Pharmacology) has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Particle and Fibre Toxicology, one of the premiere international journals in the diverse field of inhalation toxicology. Simultaneously, Dr. Timothy Nurkiewicz has accepted the role of Associate Editor, and Drs. Salik Hussain and Vamsi Kodali have been selected to serve on the Editorial Board in support of the journal’s new directions under Dr. Erdely’s leadership.
