Interested in learning about infectious diseases and how they are transmitted?
The School of Public Health is offering a new undergraduate-level course in the fall 2026 semester for any students interested in learning about infectious diseases and the role of public health in disease transmission and control. PUBH 428: Infectious Disease Epidemiology is a 3-credit course that will be offered in person at the WVU Health Sciences Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 - 2:20 p.m.
Multiple Health Sciences entrances temporarily closed due to inclement weather
Multiple entrances to the Health Sciences buildings are temporarily closed due to cold temperatures. Detour signage is posted for the affected areas and facilities is working to resolve those issues.
Test of WVU Safety Notification System scheduled for Feb. 3
To ensure proper communication during emergencies, a test of the WVU Safety Notification System is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 3) on the Morgantown, Beckley and Keyser campuses.

WVU continues to transition to Zoom Phone to avoid deferred maintenance costs exceeding $1 million and better support a large workforce with many hybrid and fully remote staff.
Operation Blue Sky Music in the Pylons to be held Feb. 2
WVU Health Sciences Operation Blue Sky invites all students, faculty and staff to visit Pylons Commons for a special performance on Feb. 2 by Ryu Wada, violin; Jackson Thee, flute; Jeremiah Hines, piano; and Supphanat Lamache, piano. Music will last from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Free coffee and hot chocolate will be provided.
