West Virginia University School of Medicine student Jonathan “Tucker” Bennett is on a mission to save others through emergency medicine. He is graduating in May with his medical degree at WVU thanks to private support from the The Health Plan Medicine Scholarship and the George and Ethel Curry Medical Scholarship, combined with community aid from the Hinton Area Foundation.
WVU endodontics resident inducted into national society for top scholars
Dr. Hamid Jafarzadeh Bakooei, a resident in the endodontics advanced education program at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry, has been inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and one of the most selective all-discipline honor societies.
5 WVU Bucklew Scholars chosen as 2026 Foundation Scholars
Twenty incoming West Virginia University students from across the Mountain State who are driven by shared passions for innovation and service have been named the 2026-27 cohort of Bucklew Scholars. From this distinguished group of students, five have been selected as Foundation Scholars, the highest academic scholarship the University awards.
