Parking enforcement and permit processes updated
WVU Health Sciences is reminding faculty, staff and students of updated guidance by WVU Parking Management and J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital Security Management.
UPDATE: SOLE login screen have been rescheduled for 8-9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4
SOLE users can expect to see changes to the SOLE login screen after 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1. If you have a WVU Login or WVU Medicine Login, choose the WVU/ WVU Medicine Sign-In button, select your role when prompted, and authenticate using the Okta Verify app or a supported multi-factor token.
Steam outage scheduled for Oct. 9–10
WVU’s steam provider, Vicinity, will conduct a planned steam outage beginning at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, through 7 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, to make necessary repairs on their distribution system.
Install Okta Verify now to avoid disruptions and be ready for retirement of Duo
WVU will soon replace the Duo Mobile multi-factor authentication app with Okta Verify, and Information Technology Services recommends that students install the new app as soon as possible to avoid disruptions. Don’t delete the Duo app yet, though. You will still need it for access to some WVU applications until Oct. 1.
Ground floor, HSC South entrance closed for construction
The ground floor, Health Sciences Center South entrance near The Market at WVU Health Sciences has been closed due to ongoing construction and safety concerns. This closure will remain in place full-time through the beginning of the fall semester and may continue on an as-needed basis.
Health Sciences implements updated photography services and pricing
Following recent changes to the university’s photography pricing structure and to continue to support a photography studio that offers on-campus portraits and on-location photography services, WVU Health Sciences is implementing several updated policies and pricing.
New resource offers photography tips for web and digital use
A new section has been added to the HSC Communications Guide to help teams capture better photos for web and digital channels. The resource, “How to Take Great Photos,” includes clear, practical tips to improve image quality and maintain consistency across platforms.
Reverse osmosis water system update – HSC South Building
A temporary interruption occurred in the reverse osmosis (RO) water system, which may have affected some research areas within the Health Sciences Center South Building. Repairs have been completed, and the system is currently in the recovery phase. Some areas may continue to experience limited RO water supply for the next few hours.
Annual Steam Outage – HSC Campus
HSC Facilities, in coordination with our steam provider Vicinity, has scheduled the annual steam outage for the HSC Campus. Please see below for the list of affected buildings and the outage timeline.
NOTICE: Health Sciences experienced brief power disruption on April 19
Earlier this evening, the Health Sciences Center experienced a brief power outage during a fast-moving storm. As a result, the generators kicked on to provide back-up power to the building. As of 9:15 p.m., power was restored to the building, and Facilities Management is monitoring the situation.
