Research Study Participation

West Virginia researchers are working hard to create remedies to address the current challenges to lessen the impact of substance use in West Virginia.  We invite participants to join one of our Substance Use Disorder Treatment studies.

Now Enrolling Adults in Buprenorphine Treatment Study

We are seeking adults, at least 18 years of age, who recently started buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder (Suboxone®, Zubsolv®, Brixadi®, or Sublocade®).

  • Participation is voluntary. Even if you agree to participate, you can drop out at any time you choose.
  • Compensation will be provided for your time and travel.
  • Eligible participants will receive a study-issued Fitbit® and cell phone. 
  • Study medication will be provided at no cost. 
  • Study procedures, including potential risks and benefits, will be discussed prior to participation agreement.

Join a Research Opportunity at the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute

Researchers at the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute are using wearable devices and surveys to understand health patterns.

To be eligible to participate, you must be:

  • Aged 18 years or older
  • Participating in the WVU COAT program weekly groups
  • Willing and able to provide informed consent
  • Willing to use the Oura Smart ring and RNI Health app

The study will last about one year and is a paid research study.
