Associate Dentist

Job Description & Qualifications: Bluefield Dental Care is offering a unique opportunity to join the practice and the primary provider. Current owner works at the office one or two days a week and practices the rest of the time in the federal government. Dr. Honaker will be available for mentorship but new associate will enjoy priority scheduling for new and existing patients. Future purchase of the practice with real estate is highly possible. Practice is very flexible in negotiating schedules and benefits.

Salary Details: Associate dentist will be paid biweekly the same as the regular office payroll cycle, which is every other Wednesday. A hybrid model of pay based on production and collections will be used. The associate will be paid 100% of the production of periodic, limited, and comprehensive examinations using the adjusted fee schedule. Associate will not be compensated for radiographs. Associated will be paid 50% of the production of all resin-based restorations (CDT codes 2330-2394, 2950, 2954) using the adjusted fee schedule. All root canal therapy must be pre-determined with insurance prior to start of the procedure. Root canals started by the associate but not finished in one appt will not be billed out to insurance or compensation distributed to associate until the root canal is finished and a final film has been exposed. Root canal therapy will be compensated at 40% or the adjusted fee schedule rate. For procedures that will require an external lab case and fee, the following procedure will be followed: All prosthodontics will be pre-determined with insurance if the patient possesses. The lab fee will be subtracted from the total fee the office will be paid. The associate will be paid 40% of the remaining amount when the case is seated (finished), regardless if the office has been paid by the insurance at that time. If a patient does not have insurance, the office will require payment in full before the restoration or prosthodontic is seated/inserted. All pros cases proposed must have a completed packet before starting that will contain the following: a copy of the predetermination, an estimate of the associated lab costs, and the amount associate will be compensated clearly stated and signed and approved by Dr. Honaker. The compensation for the completed procedures will be included in the next regularly scheduled payroll. Fees for remakes will be subtracted from the associate's compensation on the next scheduled paycheck after taxes are removed from gross pay.
