Biography: Valerie N. Perrine, DDS

Dr. Valerie Perrine graduated from WVUSOD with a DDS in 2009, when she graduated with honors and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon. During her teaching career, she has received the Most Outstanding WVUSOD Teacher Award in 2017, the ASDA Student Advocacy Award for the region in 2019, the WVU Academy of Excellence in Teaching and Learning in 2021, and graduated from the ADEA Leadership Institute in 2023.

Dr. Perrine maintains a private practice, “Perrine Implant and Aesthetic Dentistry”, in Cowen, WV, where she provides comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages. She developed and implemented a school-based dental program for Webster County students and serves as the dental liaison for the Webster County Board of Education and provider of dental services in Webster County Elementary Schools.

Dr. Perrine is the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Community Health and Outreach at the WVUSOD, and she directs many student events and the rural rotation outreach, the global engagement, and the advising programs. She is also course director for two restorative dentistry courses and laboratories. Dr. Perrine serves as a Board member of the WVUSOD Alumni Dental Association, the Center for Rural Health Development, and as the Secretary of the WVDA, and ADA Alternate Delegate.
